About Kat Jong, MD
I was born and raised in New York City, where I attended Stuyvesant HS. I went on to study at Williams College with a major in German studies and spent a year studying in Munich. Subsequently I attended Medical School at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY and completed my Psychiatry Residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.
As a Psychiatrist, I have experience treating many different mental health conditions including: depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, insomnia, ADHD, and chronic pain. I also have expertise treating patients needing support for life transitions such as career changes, academic difficulties, relationship issues, caregiving for sick relatives, and pregnancy.
I am passionate about providing care to diverse patient populations, and especially want to provide a safe space for INTJ / ENTJ / INTP / ENTP personality types and LGBTQIA individuals to feel listened to.
I am happy to work with physicians, healthcare workers, trainees, and students for either mental health treatment or professional coaching.
In my free time I enjoy cooking, reading, and exploring.
